Day Two NaBloPoMo
Aha! On the new laptop I figured out how to enable cookies for Google to allow me to get photos on here.
Here is an absolutely horrific photo of me from last month when Gary, Gail and I went trout fishing at Bennett Spring for the last time this season. We all caught our limit (4) within a fairly short period of time. In fact, after I got 3 on my stringer I started getting picky about what I kept. As long as we were paying money for them, we only kept the bigger ones. We were able to get our favorite fishing hole, the weather was delightful, and the fish were hungry. We make our own dough bait and they seem to love it. In fact they kept eating it off of the hooks.

What else has been going on here? Oh me. Well, I have been subbing a great deal more this school year. So far I have been at the Bison Learning Center once. This is a separate little building where they have a few of the grade schoolers that cannot integrate with the regular population. They are a bit more difficult. I ended up working mostly with one little guy, maybe age 8-9. It was funny because beforehand the paraprofessional had warned me that the child could be difficult and is prone to erupt into violent outbursts at times. He was indeed easily distracted and prone to get distracted from his task at hand, but overall was rather pleasant to work with. He had a soft voice as well as a slight speech impediment which made him a bit difficult to understand at times. About 3/4 of the way through the day he asked me a question that I didn't understand at first. I just agreed with him initially, until he continued talking. Then, when I did understand, I didn't dare correct him. Haha! He had asked me if I were a grandma. When he heard me say "yes," he nodded sagely and said; "I thought so. That's why I be so nice. I always nice to grandmas."
Haha! My decision to no longer color my hair after getting this dang Alpha Gal Syndrome has its perks.
Then I did sub a day in the preschool. And I have done 3-4 days at the high school/Dallas County Technical Center. I wish I could sub at the technical center a couple of days per week. Most of the teachers there have their prep hour as the last hour of the day, so subs can just go home an hour early. Woo!

I have done some writing, but not as much as I ought to be doing. If I have a gift for writing, I ought to be exercising that gift on a daily basis. That is why I am trying to do NaBloPoMo again this year. I need to get back into the flow of words and phrases and all. I wish NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) were more of a "thing" now, but I believe the site that usually hosted it has been closed, or whatever the term is; discontinued? Shut down? Whatever.
I still go to our monthly writers meeting. And I still intend on writing Pansy Petunia stories. And more stories about Wonderful Woodland and all of the shenanigans Pansy and her friends get in to. I haven't written anything about them all summer/fall though. I need to get back in to that.
I decided that I will write devotionals. So every so often I just pick a Scripture from the Bible and write a short devotional on it. I think that counts as exercising my writing gift.

I am going to write a separate post about my Alpha Gal Syndrome and how that is going for me.
Tah for now.
