On the Road Again with Sunny

This past weekend we took another little jaunt with Sunny the RV.  This time we stayed two nights down at Roaring River State Park.  We went down on Fri and came home Sunday.  It was nice to get away again for a bit before Ellen started school on Tues.

We used the dolly and brought the car, Ed, along.  But Ed isn't in the picture because Gary and Gail went to a bluegrass music show there at the park.  Ellen and I decided to chill with Sunny.

Yes, we do name some of our vehicles.  We are eccentric that way.  I will add a disclaimer that Sunny came to us already named, so there is that.  But I distinctly recall that my brother and sister-in-law had random names for their furniture.  I am not sure if it was Dan's doing, or Deb's, but I do remember they had a chest of drawers they called "Chester."  So maybe we aren't as odd as I'd thought.  I wonder, does anyone else name inanimate objects around their place?

Anyway.

On Saturday we went to Eureka Springs, Arkansas and random other attractions in the area.

This is actually the spring at the State Park.  There is a fish hatchery there, it puts out like 20 million gallons of water per day.  Not as large as Bennett Spring, but it's nice anyway.  They raise rainbow trout mostly.  But I didn't get a good shot of the fish in the tanks.

We went to Christ of the Ozarks:

They do a passion play there in the evenings, but we skipped that.  We did find their piece of the Berlin Wall fascinating.

We went up and down the streets of Eureka Springs multiple times, and I took a few pictures. But really, you have to go there to truly understand it.  It's a very unique town.  I took this picture of Ellen on one of the painted stairways there.  We had to wait for some diva to get out of the way; she had the guy with her take multiple shots of her, then she would inspect them to see if they passed muster.  A few of them didn't, so he had to go back again while she posed in a different stance.  Aggravating.

We went up to the Crescent Hotel.  It was large and gloomy.  Suitable for ghosts, if you believe in sitch.  Here is a shot Ellen took looking down the staircase from the top floor.

We also went to Thorncrown Chapel; made of glass.  It is lovely.  I would like to go to a service there some day.

We stayed Saturday night; Gary and Gail took in the bluegrass music both evenings.  Then we came home Sunday morning.

It was fun.  Every outing we learn more of what we need to keep around Sunny; to have a decent set up and be prepared.

Saturday night a minor storm rolled through.  It rained off and on for a few hours.  We didn't have an outside mat so we tracked in a great deal of leaves and grass and dirt...etc.  It kept us busy sweeping.  So we need to get a door mat in case of rain.  We also spent quite a bit of time opening and closing random cupboards trying to figure out where we had put things.  Maybe we should have labels for all the cupboards, I don't know.  The more we use Sunny for camping maybe, the more we will remember where everything is.

A good time was had by all.

We are already thinking ahead to next summer!
